Casco Bay Mudflats (2017)

45 minute collaborative performance piece

A collaborative performance with Ashley V. Bennett at the Casco Bay Mudflats in Portland, Maine in early November on a full moon. The piece consisted of Ashley and myself spinning each other in the mudflats with two boat ropes. Upon falling, the first fallen would yell out a word at random and the victor would repeat it and then the whole process would begin over again, forming incoherent non-sensical sentence fragments. The performance ended after forty-five minutes when both parties were too physically exhausted to continue the process in the over foot deep mud. The performance is about chance, and a facade of control.
